I have the same kind of tearing on my drivers side seal, I think in my case its caused by my left arm/side rubbing against the seal when I get out of the car. I have the seat back as far as it will go. I'm 6'4" 250 pounds and find that I end up pushing against that seal area with my elbow/arm when getting out of the car. Wish they had a 3 door hatch available with longer doors!

Mine looks exactly like yours and my car has 4500 miles on it!! Granted, I'm a big boy, 6'7'' 250lbs, but I don't rub on it nearly as much to do that kind of damage. I've never had any other car that's had that problem...

No my wifes friend is the wife of a dealership owner....... im going to see if it can happen for free. I just have to drive an hour and a half if it happens.

They did say the root cause is im too big. I dont fit the European global size profile apparently. Lol

Worn Door Seal

I ended up buying a new door seal for about $100 but I haven't installed it yet because I'm afraid we'll just tear it up again. It is still not clear to me why it's torn. Are we rubbing against it getting in and out? Or did the few times we caught the seat belt latch in the door do it? So I trimmed the torn part neatly and am living with it that way for awhile.

Shop at Tousley via Ford parts to see their discounted prices from ford parts.com using their zip code to locate the dealer to shop from : 55110

Then you will see the list price as well as their price at the same time.
