It is a pleasure to report that I am among the growing ranks that are quite pleased with the FSA 12B37. My DCT has gone from good to great. Don't hesitate, get 'er done!

On a side note, it might not only be the AC that's a little funky post update (Richs10 had to have his looked at after the update was done).
Upon start-up, my intelligent oil life monitor was informing me it was time for an oil change. Now, not only did I do my own oil change about 2,300 miles ago, but I reset the monitor myself (it's pretty easy). I scurried back into the service desk and was appologetically notified that the IOLM needs to be re-set post update and that the tech must have forgot. I reset the monitor and reset my clock and am now good to go.

They also told me that I was one of the few customers that successfully installed / "upgraded" to MFT v3. Most of their customers have had to / chosen to bring the car into the dealer for the upgrade. Of interest, even though I logged in the successful software install on the Sync site, Ford's records still showed that it had not been done. The tech verified the install and it is now noted as completed in their system.

I told them that I did the update but they re-flashed my MFT anyway.

But on the topic of this thread, the tranny is working great!

Seems like things are good consistantly after these updates because all the computer parameters have been reset. But then they go back to their old habits after a couple of days.

Car was at dealer today for the steering rack--they claim they can't find anything like this in the system applying to the car. It shows on the ETIS site. Go figure...

I should add--car was built 12/1/11. It got the then current PCM/TCM code about three weeks back.

And if it is like mine, you should also see some mpg improvements. I tested today in a city driving and while before the update the mpg went up skyrocking when I was stuck in trafic and iddling, today, after the update and fill-up I did yesterday, I saw my mpg not so eager to go up when at idle. That's really great !
Even with the learning curve and the inconsistent grinding re: the DCT early on, the difference between DCT and Ye Olde Automatic is still night and day. There is that DCT smoothness I've missed when going back into an Automatic...

How long were you in traffic? I noted (before the updates) that problems really seemed to kick in if I had been driving over 20 minutes... at least before the firmware upgrade.

Mine was built on 12/20/2011 (pity it wasn't built on 12/21/2011, but one can't have everything...). Hopefully mine is like yours.

I hope the rough low idle doesn't return, but that was the worst of it. Even the 'jolt' I had experienced is by and large gone. Proper foot placement helped, oddly - I usually keep my toes toward the bottom of the accelerator pedal. Now I keep them toward the top. That had helped... Proper foot placement and firm acceleration pretty much eliminates the human factor. No granny mode and no gunning it and all is good to go. (I've not driven since Wednesday but the tighter overall response of the DCT doesn't seem like something that will promptly vanish, and it's been fantastic...)

MPG improvements are always cool; that might be partly explained because of the occasional revving the car did on its own before the firmware upgrade... not that it did so often, or often to the point of seeing a tangible increase, so something else positive is going on with the new firmware.

The manager said to call them back if problems return, which is great (I need to fill out the survey as well...). Hopefully I won't need to, but my local dealer has always been a solid class act over the years (dad always bought from there, and so will I. From reading, it seems obvious that a good dealer is easily as important as the brand itself...)

Long-term is now the key... some are now reporting some issues returning, but especially if the low-idle jutter hasn't occurred despite others then that's the biggie.

I might try using select-shift on a more regular basis as well... I keep saying I will yet keep forgetting to...

Mine is 08/12/2011 built. I was more than 30 minutes in a traffic jam and funny enough, I only saw my L/100 km gone up from 7.2 to 7.5. Before the update, for the same amount of time would be at least 1.5 L more (from 8.2 to 9.7 L/100 km).

P.S. My DCT is still runnning strong so I don't have any complains yet.

Or maybe not. Though it seems improved (placebo effect?), reading the ticket does not make it clear what they did. I reported generally poor low speed / stop-and-go driveability including 1-2 stutter and generally poor shift and non-shift timing.

Ticket says "C/S AT LOW SPEEDS AND LETTING OFF THE GAS THERE IS A HESITATION ON ACCEL AND OR DECEL. ADVISE
Work performed:
ELECT TRANS DIOG PASS REPROGRAM AND RETEST CL CLEAR KAM PER WARNER TRANS OP NORMAL"

No mention of PCM/TCM/ABS or FSA 12B37--which, when they did this part of the work, had not been reported here--or TSB 12-1-4 / -4A.

Is FSA 12B37 real? (Shows on ETIS site, but...) Does it apply to a 12/1/2011 US market DCT 5 dr Ti? How do I get them to perform it? Wait for the puported letter? Anbody had that letter show in their mailbox?

Oh, and after performing, on this visit, a F R side marker bulb replacement, the steering rack replacement, and the code update for the Low Washer Fluid message doesn't problem, the car came back with its brains scrambled. Remembered AM & FM presets, but not trip odo or most other MFT settings including Sirius presets, paired phones, and, perhaps worst of all, the WiFi key which is SUCH A PAIN IN THE ASS to key in...

Dick W:
At message #132 in this thread I posted what my service ticket said when I got the FSA 12B37 done. It specifically mentioned the FSA by name. Its odd that yours did not. I would make sure you actually got the upgrade. BTW my car is a 1/31/12 build and the FSA showed up as needing to be done on both ETIS and OASIS.

I think this is a fairly new FSA. I just saw it on my car's ETIS listing. I have not received any letter from Ford about it.
