Someone backed into it

I suspect it was a Fedex truck, none of the my fellow employees have any damage or scratches on their bumper, and the Fedex guy in the Sprinter van is the only one that will fly into our parking lot in reverse.

Didn't look to bad...then I pulled the rear bumper




On the bottom left of the last pic you'll notice what looks like a hole, I can put my first three fingers in it, and the seam underneath is split, and the seam behind the taillight is buckled. Body shop is repairing to the tune of $1288... yay for insurance.

So either it got hit at the perfect angle by a heavy vehicle or I should question the build quality

I suspect the perfect angle. I've seen enough accidents (posted on this site even) to believe that these cars can take a hit quite admirably.

I have $500 detectible, this is the first time in 12 years of driving that I've ever had any damage, i think now I'll switch to $0 deductible. Geico was super easy with it, I filed the claim after I pulled the bumper, they sent a tow truck to get it and take it to the dealer and sent me a rental.

I've been paying $154 a month for three cars with full coverage.

Did you call into FedEx to report it and see if maybe they can locate the driver for that day on that route? Might can get FedEx to reimburse you

Glad to know you've been taken care of. I also think $154 a month is fairly reasonable. On the other hand, I don't know if the $500 deductible is fair, stating the fact you have full cover under a (basically) simi/new vehicle. Could have your deductible been vanished if a police report was filed?!? You never quite get insurance companies, wether your vehicle is old or new, and involved in a major or light accident. They'll get you one way or another. Smh!...
