Thumbs up Air filter or whole intake?

Should i just put a filter on the end of my stock intake or should i just leave it until i get the money for a short ram? I'm kinda getting tired of the bulky stock air box.

I went to autozone an bought a spectre medium cone air filter for $25, went home took off the airbox and put the cone filter on the stock piping. you may want to use some cooking spray to help you slide it on there though. i had a noticable increase in engine response and it gives off a forced induction sound. I've had no problems with it what so ever. It was cheaper than the k&n drop in filter they wanted to sell me for $50. you dont have to have the whole short ram to get quality results. It's the best $25 bucks I have spent for one of my performance mods. but if you want to get a whole SR kit, you can make a custom one there just the way you want it for $75-$125. It's not a bad deal, I would try that first.

I had the non-replaceable filter box in mine. ripped all that out and added a cone filter to the down pipe (with the maf sensor) comming from the upper box.
