Is that stainless or aluminized steel? Stainless, I hope, since the stock set-up is. And I like the dual tips on the Borla system.

Loud as hell? Why? All that's on my car is a 6" round, 18" long Magnaflow, and it's loud, but not deafening.

Borla has two mufflers no resonator, according to the parts list. :-)

So wait, is this 2.25 or 2.5?

All the pipes are 2.25, the muffler's are 2.5. They are slip fit with clamps. Greg can measure.

After further review I think they could all be 2.25.

So really you're just changing the muffler/resonator set-up and the tips with this exhaust? Why not go to 2.5"?

This is BORLA catback setup 2.25, this is not custom like RED/FB58.

Stock 2 inch
Borla 2.25 inch
FSWERKS 2.50 inches

Holy crap, I didn't realize the mufflers on the Borla system were the exact same as what I picked out (except for mine are 2.5").

I remember when we were about to start up mine after the install my exhaust guy was thinking the same thing. His words I believe were:

"You realize this things gonna be loud as f%@k right?"

I told him to just wait and see. He was surprised as hell when it's merely growled to life and crackled a bit when you gave it some gas. You get what you pay for with Borla (IMO).

What part numbers do you have. I think the front one is 40842S the same as FB58. The rear could either be 40364 or 40941.

I just don't understand why most aftermarket exhaust systems for our cars are only 2.25". Just seems like kind of a waste to me, but to each his own.

And for the record, Redfocz and I have nearly identical systems, part-wise.

Oh, and I started my Focus after we unbolted the system right after the cat, and it wasn't even horribly loud then. My '11 Sonata was at least twice as loud when I did the same thing. Our cars actually have a nice, deep, throaty exhaust sound.

I might have missed this in all of the exhaust threads but did either of you post a parts list of the mufflers you went with?

Are you also using a muffler where the 'lunch box' was? If possible, I'd prefer to do a resonator up line and an oval muffler in the back... exiting out the drivers side for simplicity.
