True 0-60 numbers?

Hello, all. Say, I noticed some people (Fourms, YouTube, ect.) getting 0-60 numbers as high as 9 seconds to as little as 7 seconds. I watched someone on YouTube go 0-60 in almost 7 flat, completely stock. Mine you it was a Manual, but I think the new DCT on an automatic can do the same since Injected increased the rev limit. Shift points and lag reduction must help some. Is that unrealistic to say these Focus' can do 7 seconds? The person in this video does use launch control, but I think with the Injected Tune, intake, snorkel and exhaust that would help eliminate the lag from a dead stop and give you 7 seconds. I do apologize if I sound silly, I'm not THAT knowledgeable on the tech side of cars.

I think in that vid he uses the sport mode shifting with the dct. 7 seconds is pretty nice for this car bone stock. I'm sure with some mods and a tune the car could do even better than 7. Would be interesting to see some other peoples 0-60 times

He did, but the car still redlines at 6500 or so. The new Injected tune/DCT tune, increases it to 7000, so MAYBE the extra 500 RPM can help a little? Or maybe wishful thinking. I really would like to tell people I can do 0-60 in 7 seconds AND get 40 MPG I would love to take my car to the track (I don't like doing 0-60 on the streets for MANY reasons) but in MN, I can't find a place to do it. I think I very close to 7 if not 7 flat. I have absolutely no lag from a dead stop and have the DCT tune which lets my automatic shift at 7000 RPM. LOVE IT.

Elevation from sea level affects car performance.

yeah 7 and 40 is really good, my dct lags on the start, plus no tune, so i don't think I can touch 7

I did 7.4 to 60 with more room to improve but did not want to beat on the car since it only had 200 miles. Its a 2014 sport manual.

Traction is the biggie so a little stickier rubber would help since I don't think it could be done on the OEM rubber. Need more details about the car in the vid like tire choice, wheel size and overall conditions. Most of the car rags have been running it close to mid 7s with a 5 speed which is still pretty good.

The best car rag 1/4 mile time I've seen with a 5 speed was MtotrTrend running a 15.8 while the best DCT time I've seen is a 16.1. I messed around with a neighbor on a private road over the summer and against his DCT I never had a problem staying solidly ahead of him from a standing start.

Yeah, so many variables depend on our times. I think 7 to 7.5 is good. I want under 7, but that might be wishful thinking. I really think the DCT tune from Injected will help a lot.

I think the 5 speed is geared better to use the car's powerband whereas the DCT is geared more for fuel economy.

But the numbers don't lie; 160hp and about 2900lb. 7 seconds to 60 is not impossible. Throw out the spare and skip breakfast if you plan to go to the track!
