Did you go with the anthracite finish? They do look nice, but I couldn't pass up a deal for a set of take off wheels from a 2013 with somewhere near 1000 miles on them with tires, and tpms sensors for about half the cost of even the less expensive axis xmx wheels in graphite. I'll wait to share pictures until after I have them in hand.

I bought the wheels from the group buy over on fordstnation.com they also have a seller link in the group buys section here. Perfect Circle Auto sport.

Team Dynamics pro race 1.2 18"x8" hub centric so no rings needed. They are matte black, not anthracite but I love both those colors. @212 a wheel they were well worth it.

They do look nice.

I had also been considering the Axis XMX wheels in black/ graphite or the TDs in 17x7, but the cost for the Axis even on closeout from tirerack + tires + sensors would have been over $1500 assuming I wanted to keep my standard 16" wheels and tires around for winters once the tires were burned off perhaps.

Those wheels were normally $175, now $139 each, but I found some factory Y spoke 17x7's with tires and sensors for a decent price, but I'll also have to drive a decent way to go pick them up.

Picture for reference. The take offs should suit the car quite nicely and not break the bank at the moment, even if I may have preferred the gunmetal finish before. Those still look nice.

Why should I go aftermarket? Most of the aftermarket wheels don't go through the same quality and durability tests that the original factory parts go through. That and there is a matter of cost, I can have basically what I want for <1k or going aftermarket I'd have to spend almost 1.5-2k.

I suppose, I guess out ideas about modding are a little different. I want to look unique and I couldn't get that look through OEM wheels. But if that's what you like then why pay more? Makes sense to me for you to go the OEM rout if that's what you like

My car is already fairly unique, having been a 1 yr only model and 1 yr only color, plus the ST wing, and a euro plate. Besides I'm pretty sure there was no 2012 in Frosted Glass with these particular wheels, just the polished aluminum version.

I am trying to stick somewhat closer to an O.E.+ appearance, subtle little things that will help me to enjoy the car better without being too obvious to everyone else.

Although I may like the color I think this might be a bit too much, and or in a place where it will get worn away/ damaged quite quickly and would not necessarily be what I want to see.
I could almost see stripping the paint and going gunmetal, and or having the silver polished lip/ bit around the spokes painted but both have the same challenges..
