No. Definitely not rough. I would say that the right quality is great and it is wife approved. But it is definitely not as smooth as stock. As far as my daily driver it is awesome. But you definitely have to go slower over speedbumps.

I like the idea. Better sounding to me is no sound since I drive it every day. Not sure how much of a performance gain your actually gaining really anyways by cutting it off.

Average gain has been around 10hp +/- 2 hp

Little to nothing gained by just removing it... But... Putting in a 2.25" or 2.5" set up, like Mike said 8-12hp
