Maybe you could put some spacers on the sides so the floor sits flatter?

Yes, is was thinking of doing that, when I put a sub back there, I'll flatten the floor then, right now it doesn't bother me.

it's nice to have some bass to music. you probably wouldn't need much to be satisfied. i'm still young so i'll be pushing around 900 watts when i come around to hooking up a woofer.

I listen to a lot of rock, so I don't need too much bass, plus with the amp rinning the 6x8 Alpines, I do get some. Thinking about maybe an 8" or a 10" for the sub.

Just get a good, low cost 12" and be done with it rather than get a small sub and wishing you had more. I have my 12" and probably only run it at half power or less most of the time, but at the rare occasion that you want to crank it up, you won't be disappointed and wishing for a larger sub.
