I cut a piece of steel for the entire license plate area. Then I took a steel pipe and cut it into sections. I welded the steel pipe pieces inside the license area for support behind and to help curve it. Then I started at one end tack welding the metal sheet a little at a time. After I finished I cut a rectangle out and welded in a 1" deep license plate box. Looked good and bondo not necessary.

I have a couple in my phone but not good close ups of the finished product.

I painted it egg yolk yellow for a guy in Tennessee that bought it and I don't have his #. I sold it on craigslist so I wouldn't have to ship it. Also on eBay UK they have fiberglass hatch covers but you don't end up with any support under it...

Sorry for the crappy pics ill try and hunt some up after work.

they are still some good pics man. it looks somewhat easy if you know what you're doing. how long did it take to cut the piece and bar pieces, before cutting the license plate hole?

A few minutes. I just made a template out of posterboard and measured how high the pipe pieces needed to be
