it looks like it just slipped off, and i would like to know the reason why. its weird for that to just happen now. I got it done when i bought the car which was at 119,000 miles

belts dont just "slip off", unless you have the wrong size belt.

there is an underlying cause. check all pullies and the tensioner.

I have also seen belts come off after going through a large deep puddle of water too, but that is uncommon.

Don't drive it with out the belt on. With no water circulating will cause hot spots you can cause real damage such as a warped head or blow the head gasket. Spin the pulleys by hand do any feel hard to turn? You can put the belt back on your self. Here is a link to every How To: on the forum

Thanks for the help Sleepyboy. I looked at the link for the accessory belt, but there arent any pictures of what I will be looking at so i guess ill have to crawl under there this weekend and fix it then send it off to the shop to recheck everything

Also how do you take off the splash guard? Im in class right now and just wanted to know if there is any special trick to take it off or any screws?

Make sure you didn't lose and idler pully. My gf lost hers on her explorer and it took me a minute to realise it was missing.

The issue is now fixed. The tension was completely missing and all I had to do was replace it and get a new belt
