The Race Header Poll*Vote*

So the real question I have is which Race Header is better.

The 2 main ones on the market are FocusSport and Focus Central.

Which one do you think is best designed, easy to install and worth the purchase?

Just FYI, one is a 4-1 (FS) and the other is 4-2-1 (FC). And please don't reply the SVT header. I am talking about a Zetec aftermarket designed race header.

Paix....

The 4-2-1 will give you more gains (HP) then the 4-1 so out of those choices for that very reason plus I really like Focus Central to being with, that is the one I would go with. For the simple design issue (4-2-1 vs. 4-1) and the difference in HP gains, why would you not want to go with the FC one. The third choice on the list is definitely definitely wrong, they are not the same.

The only downside is that if you get the FC headers, then get the FC flexpipe. Someone just recently had issues with the fittment of FC headers to a Bosal flex. I'll find the thread...
EDIT:Here's the fitment issues

Thanks for the heads up tunedfocuzx3... I'll ahve to look for the FC flexpipe then for a later upgrade.

Word of caution on FC 4-2-1 header though... if you buy used and get a gen I header, be aware that they were susceptible to splitting the welds at the junction between the runners going from 4 to 2. This was corrected in a later design, and can be compensated for by re-welding any split joints and then welding a brace between the two runners.

Vas, I just installed a FS race header last week, its my 3rd. I personally don't like them, the quality is nice but the fitment was horrible. They place both of the o2 sensors inline under the oil pan which I am not fond of, it also is very difficult to fit the flange underneath to the bracket on the engine. Finally, the last car I did with a FS race header was down a bit on torque, I didn't like that at all.

I have installed 17, thats right, 17 FC race headers and never had a problem with one of them. I have a FC race header on my car, its a 2nd gen race header and has been on my car for over 2 years without an issue.

FC all the way. I enjoy having them in my car and herd that the 4-2-1 header is better then 4-1 in a review about them.

After what focaltech posted, the answer should be as clear as day.
