Getting ready to install the FSWerks Header

I'll be installing the FSWerks header and flex pipe on my 2004 ZTS 2.3L this weekend. I've read in the service manual that they recommend discarding the exhaust manifold (cat convert according to the manual) nuts once removed. Is this really necessary? My neighbor is a Ford dealer so getting new ones is ease and cheap. Just seeing what everyone thinks.

Thanks,
P.J.

Why would you throw away the nuts that hold the manifold on? ...Unless you have replacements ready. I used the same nuts to hold my turbo manifold on and when I re-installed the stock header just recently.

Must be another way for the service bay to tack on a couple more bucks for repairs.

I even reused the manifold gasket too. It looked a lot better that the ford replacement one. You will enjoy that header. Did you also order a tune to turn off the rear o2 senser? You might need a stealth muffler too.

Got the header off last night. Gasket is shot so I'm picking a new one up today.
What do you use to plug off the air pump hose that is no longer there?

I highly doubt the gasket is shot...That thing is made of steel.

I wish you the best of luck! I just tried to switch out my stock header with my FSWerks Header, but I couldn't even get the damn stock one off. I hope you have better luck.
