I had an encounter with an under cover camaro today coming back from the speedway, a red silverado flew past me going mabye 85-90 and a black camaro is chasing him. At first, I thought they were racing, but then the camaor flips on its lights (similar to the hidden lights in that mustang that pulled over the ferrari) and pulls the truck over. I was suprised, but im glad i was going the speed limit for once.

When I lived in IN they had undercover (unmarked) camaro's around all the time (state police). I am sure they still do but not sure what they are using now. They did the mustangs with the police interceptor's in them for awhile and when I moved they were on the camaro kick. I think they change like every 3 or 4 years. If some one from IN see's this post let me/us know what they are using now. Also when I got pulled over in Michigan it was in some beat up jeep. I asked him if that was an actual cop car and he said yes, they stick a roof rack on any thing they can get there hands on. Maybe some one from Michigan can give more info on that.

Our sheriff's department has a variety of "special" cars.
H1, VW Bug 1.8T, Corvette, Modified F150
Much of the ability to catch you is the surprise.

How is this for pursuit vehicle. Italian cops have Lambo Gallardos! That is one I don't think any one is going to out run unless your focus has wings and a turbine.

We have local cops and Highway Patrol show up at autocross all the time. Almost every event. They will ride with competitors, run their patrol cars and sometimes take riders with them. And for the most part, they drive pretty well. The EVOC and pursuit courses are pretty handy.

city of troy police have all black camaro's with a small police symbol on only the drivers side of the car. they are known to pull up with the officer in street clothes and rev on people at red lights then ticket them if they race.

we also have a 32 t bucket roadster that they scored in a drug bust and was too nice to auction off, turns out it was also too powerful to handle so they sent it to ford down in dearborn and had a lightning SVT dropped in it

the local Community sheriffs dept. has a couple of pretty cool trucks down here in SB. One Izuzu Vehicross and a couple of beefed up expeditions to go out onto the sandy beaches here. As for sports cars the HWPD has camaro's as usual and a couple of undercover high performance cars that i have not seen yet.
