This was my project yesterday (Beware - Plasti dip)

Finally did what I've been planning on doing. I'll try to get some better shots tomorrow out in the sun if anyone wants to see how it came out in full effect.

Well done man. How many cans did it take? I was thinking about doing something similar to my ZX4 (roof) , but i've already gone Plasti Dip Nuts. The stuff is addicting. I really wish the extra line that the Side Mirrors make wasn't there. =l

Wheels next? I've got the same OEMs on mine. and Yea, they're dipped as well.

Took a little less than three rattle cans. 5 coats total, the last one being pretty thick. wheels are definitely on the agenda. how'd you do yours?

I went the wheels-still-on-the-car route, because I didn't want the lug nuts to remain OEM color. And if i dipped the lugs separately, i feared that they would peel when putting them back on.
The rear wheels are the easiest to prep; an average garbage bag wrapped around the drum works Great. (which reminds me, i REALLY wana paint [not dip] my drum, because it stands out through the sexy black rims). The fronts are a bit of a pain, due to the caliper being so damn close to the rim. I found the easiest prep was to mask the calipers completely with tape and cover the exposed rotor with a bag. It's recommended to move your car up/back a bit, so that you get an even cover on every little random corner and niche. HOWEVER, that is easier said than done, due to the lack of space in the Fronts. But it's do-able. Definitely take your time, and make sure you clean your wheels SPOTLESS before spraying.
Oh, and i only used 2 cans for all 4 wheels. Use 3-4 for a better Thich coat than i got. I love mine tho. They've been on for about a month, and still look kick ass.

It should last if you cleaned the area well enough before spraying. I pressure wash the dip on my car and it still looks great. In my opinion though, you should have just done the top panel and left the pillars white. good job none-the-less! post up pics of better angles..
