Just from the posts that I've read in my time on here, I think it would be relatively difficult to find Tom being wrong...

He can't really be wrong with that statement though. He said lets blow one up to see how much it can take.

From what I've seen, he's quite well respected in this community.

Here's my 2 cents--

Save the money you would spend on a turbo setup and use it as the difference on your trade-in to the ST. Unless you are going entirely on the basis that you like to create something unique and enjoy the build process, you'll probably be better off upgrading to the ST which already has a transmission and engine internals that can handle a turbocharger (and do). I am coming from an Audi B5 S4 and it drove me crazy seeing guys trying to upgrade their A4 1.8Ts to power levels that you could attain with the S4 if you just spent $500 on a chip. Why spend thousands of dollars just to dyno what the higher trim already produces and then forego the suspension/interior/exterior upgrades? And when you get there you'll probably end up de-badging trying to look like you're not driving the lowly 2.0 N/A =P

Why do people mod mustang GTs when they should have gotten a cobra? I like the lower payment associated with lower trims and the lower interest rates also.

And that's before someone like Lentech takes it apart and replaces Ford's factory parts. From what I've gathered it's like every other AT Ford has ever designed: the design is groundbreaking, bulletproof, but the bean counters put the cheapest internal parts possible because, in theory, a great design with cheap parts should last long enough to get you out of warranty. Replace the bearings with higher quality, clutches, gears, etc- whammo, the sky is the limit.

We won't know that for a few years though.

The DCT250 transmission is not like any AT Ford model. It has not torque converter and runs dry clutch. I think GETRAG who developed it says it will take ~190-200ft lbs. I also read somewhere they can increase that number, but I did not see how.

I believe the dry clutch is rated at 175 ft lbs. From what I have read on here previously, which is probably going to be hit without turbo. Though I think focusboy has the highest DCT so far and was in the 150s still on torque, and 170 HP. So it could probably handle a small turbo, but it would reach the torque limits quickly.
