Definitely props for being grown about it and not handling it any other way but on the up&up. Ive had people back out of deals on me before and it is what it is, thats how business goes sometimes...shrug it off and keep moving.
You did more than enough my sending him money (which 95% of people out there would NOT do) and for publicly apologizing. You are a good dude Benny. Dont let this get ya down.

This ^^ You handled this in a way that the majority of other people wouldn't have and you certainly aren't a d-bag for making the decision you made.

Could your communication been better? Sure, but you admit that. You did the best you could to make things right and it's best you both move on. I'm sure he'll find another bike and you aren't stuck with a vehicle with a potentially branded title.

I don't understand why you sent him $100. He should refund that money or send you $100 worth of that gear he bought.

I also feel like he shouldnt have jumped on the gear like that without the bike being his but I am also at fault because I did back out on a deal I had pretty much agreed upon. I feel like sending him some money is the least I could do for causing him to waste some of his own money. At the end of the day its only money. I have just seen countless times how buyers go guns blazing after sellers and it completely ruins their reputation. One day you're great the next you are a liar, scammer, and a thief. I regret my decision to pull out of this deal with him but I did what was best for me. My main purpose of posting this was so people knew I was trying to handle it the best I could incase anything negative ever came up about this.

Thanks to everyone that posted for not making me feel like a complete ass hat, that alone was worth the money.

I think you did the right thing, business is business..most importantly you tried to make things right, those actions speak louder than anything, definitely not a douche

until the money changes hands, it's just a bunch of words that dont mean anything.

this is why i've learned to ask deposits on deals where i need to hold till they get all the cash together, so when they inevitably back out, i've got something to console myself with.
