Here is my two cents.
If tou dont have emission testing then go ahead and do it. I have nevet had anyone pop the hood on any of my vehicles, so do it!

If you live in a non emissions county they shouldn`t fail you on your saftey only inspection. On the inspection menue for saftey it does have a section for exhaust system. But it doesn`t ask for the mil
So youshould be good
