Mine came in today.
How long did it take everyone to install. This is my first time.

In the amount of time needed to post your question, you could have removed the stock airbox. Steeda says it takes an hour. I took mine off to remove the resonated tube below the airbox. Took about 15 minutes.

Some similar observations. I personally did not feel it was too loud, but the other half did, so case closed.

Installation took me about 45 minutes. I was a little dissapointed in the loss of the two fresh air intakes by using the Steeda.

Mine is going on ebay this afternoon if I get time. Oh well, somebody is going to save about $75.00 vs. a new unit.

It's crazy how many people buy intakes/exhaust and then remove them because the wife says no. I can't see spending 250 bucks on something and then getting rid of it immediately.

Btw I will buy your intake.

Unfortunately, Ford did not give us much space to work with. (but yet they left room for a giant turbo against the firewall) We tried to keep costs down on the unit, which is the reasoning for the cold air plug. We are the only kit on the market that utilizes the OEM cold air ducts at all.

Oh, is that what that big hole on the bottom of your assembly is for? I wonder why FSwerks didn't use idea on theirs, though newmission's forum seems to detract from the actual usefulness of those ducts.

Ok for the few that already had the steeda intake intalled, did you take any pictures of it installed? A few said it was a tight fit, just want to see what you all were talking about.

I just received my intake today as well around noon and had it installed in roughly the one hour time that steeda suggests. I dont think the kit was overly complicated or crude for the $300.00 price tag. The machining that went into the new housing alone is pretty sweet.

There is a difference in exhaust tone with the kit installed. I have done the lunch box mod commonly known as the "redfocz mod" and it now seems to have a deeper tone to it and the best way i could describe it is as a WRX note. There is more noise in the cabin when the engine is under load (heavy acceleration or uphills) but that is to be expected and all my previous cars have done it as well. It is barely noticeable with the windows down and the radio on (socal driver). I have a 5spd in the SE Sport and it does make a quick sucking sound when I get back on the throttle after releasing the clutch which is kinda cool for now. The car does seem to breathe easier too and doesn't seem as delayed in getting up to speed (not sure about 20 ft. lb. faster but noticeable).

Overall great kit, if you are on the fence about it i say quit farting around and pull the trigger. I'm a younger guy (under 30) with no wife so I don't have that factor against me. Remember its a performance mod first not a comfort modification.
