Focus Sedan Thule Rack setup - Square Bars!

My Fit Kit and Towers came into my Shop today so I went ahead and installed them on my car before leaving work.

I purchased:
Fit Kit 1627 For 480/480R Foot Packs only
And
480 Traverse Foot Pack

I already owned all my Thule rack equipment from over the years, and Hotly debated going with the Aero Bars.

Price was not much of a concern, as my shop is a Thule retailer, however for the average consumer the Aero Bar setup would cost roughly $60 more.

I was concerned as Thule has continually evolved their Aero Bar design, as well as the inability to run a fairing with the Aero setup, I decided to keep my square bars and save myself the hassle of getting all the T-bolt adapters for my numerous Thule attachments I already own.

Since I haven't seen too many pictures of 2012s with the Square bars, and almost none of them were sedans I figured these might help people that are looking into a square bar setup.

Here is the kit installed last night. Sorry for the pictures it was getting dark (7pm, came off the FedEx truck around 6pm lol)

Pictures with a customer bike on the roof (I was delivering it after hours)

Much Nicer pictures in the daylight.

This looks great!

I've been mulling over what I want to do for a roof rack myself. Can you explain the difference between the square bars and the aero bars? I'm a little confused about the differences.

Also, a bit off topic, but what wheels are those? They look really nice on your car!

Can you take close up pics of the bars, aero deflector and how it mounts and the rack in general. It is really hard to tell anything with such a wide angle shot, except it is a really nice car!!

I have the Thule square bars but the fit kit was for an '08 focus. What fit kit did you get, the 1260? And where did you get yours? Cost?

In the original post, I have answered your questions.

However, I purchased Thule Fit Kit 1267, it works with the Traverse 480 Foot Pack. I manage a Ski/Bike/Watersports store and ordered these directly through Thule.

You can purchase the fit kit and foot pack (if your previous rack was different) at your local sporting stores, Thule's website, or any online retailer. Easiest if you go directly to a local store, as many will install it for you and/or get them faster than online!

I was just confused with the 1627 but I get it now! It does look sharp and I believe my parts are on their way for Monday. I have a friend that works for Ford Racing and Accessories and he works directly with Thule so I can get a pretty good deal!

Thanks for the info!

Very nice, thanks!! It looks like the air deflector has like 4 bars to attach it back to the crossbars, is that correct? Will the bracket that goes behind the rubber molding damage the paint? Thanks again, much easier to see everything now. Dang fine looking setup you have there!

how long are the square bars?

I have a thule rack setup from a tempo I use to have and I also have a yakima setup for the contour. I ended up using the thule bike trays with the yakima bars and towers on the contour since thule didn't make a fit kit.

Anyway, trying to figure out if I can use any of what I already have on the focus.
