hey bwo, got a question for ya. I checked that hose. Man mines clamped SHUT. In that bend that goes into the manifold the hose is flat...i squeezed it and i couldn't make it compressed no more so its completely shut off....is that something to replace? Im prettysure it shouldn't be like that.

yeah, I think the hose fails in one of two ways, it gets a hole, or the rubber breaks down and causes the hose to collapse on itself under vacuum. I would say definately replace it in either case just like any hose if its mushy (or has a gaping hole).

bwojdyla, thank you so much for putting the part number and pictures on the site. i am now a member on this site because of you. you have no idea how much finding my idle problem helped me. i finally ran in the 15's. (15.65) my hose was pinched. apparently the new foci have a plastic elbow insert in the hoses because of all the problems it has been having. anyway, thanks again.

Glad to be of service. I believe the platic elbow piece is a different PN but both parts will work for fixing the problem. My geuss is that the old style one is cheaper, and the newer one is more expensive (1 part old, 3 parts new). So I'd say is up to the buyer on which one to get. For my money the 100k mile all rubber one is okay.

i got the hose today, i got everything out and the old hose off. Its pretty much shot now that i can see it clearly. My clamp is still in good shape and i think i can still use it but i can't get the damn thing to shut again. I get the hose on and the clamp where i want it, go to squeeze down on the clamp and just can't get it to shut back. errr haha i've spent more time trying to get the clamp back on than i have with the hole thing. How did you do it?

I went down to the hardware store and got a regular screw type hose clamp. If I were to reuse the old one, I'd get a pair of pliers and squeeze those two "nubs" together until it clamps.

sometimes its better to go an easy route instead of a factory route.

well. I just didn't want to run back out as cold as it is. Or im lazy :P i got the clamp to hook and the hose is staying put now. Man you hit that one on the head, fired up the car, let it warm up. When the RPMs fell to normal it ran smooth....
