This is awesome! I have been having a rough idle in my new (to me) 03 ZX5. I felt back there and the hose was mushy. I started the car to try and see if I could play with the hose and get it to act up, and it was totally collapsed cause of the vacuum! I will be addressing this first thing Monday, that and plugs should clear it up.

Thanks!

Well I just did this to my car and it is a day and night difference! No more vibration, rough idle, and strange sounds coming from under the hood.

The part was 21.03 at the stealership, and you don't even need the one clip that was on there from the factory.

Thanks!

So I just duct taped it. Started the car up and I guess its a really big hole because I can still feel the hose caving in under pressure. The tape sorta just adheres to the caved in section. The idle is fine now. seems a little low. My one concern is the tape failing and getting sucked into the hose. I put alot of tape on there so maybe its too much to stuff through the hole and it wont go through if it does stop sticking. Do you guys think its a bad temporary fix if the tape is drawing into the hose a bit?

I have an 02' ZTS (manual transmission) with the stumble problem too . .. not only @ idle, but when I am in lower gears @ low RPMs. It is driving me crazy, and I don't know if its pertinent info or not, but it seems to do it worse when I'm running the A/C .. ... oh and @ idle it'll do it so bad it almost stalls out and then it sounds like the fan kicks on? Hmmmmm

unfortunately I'm a stereotypical girl and I do the sound effects and make up words to describe what's up w/ my car and that prolly won't help me here :( UGH

Thanks for this thread, it's was awesome! I've had a low/rough idle for over a year now, and found this thread the other night and right away found the hole in the hose. Was an easy fix and saved a ton of money. Thank you!

I have a stumbling problem when driving... I have noticed a slight stumble when idling - but it doesn't stall.

Going to check my pipe tonight.
