Is the hose located in the same place on a UK Zetec?

Good afternoon Gang...

Has anyone substituted the YS4z-6N664-BA with the XS4Z or Vice Versa? I work for Dorman Products and we have released the YS4Z into the aftermarket. Should be able to get it from major retailers if your OE dealer does not have it in stock or its backordered.

They are similar parts, except the XS4Z has insolation from the heat and the one end is shaped differently. Almost as if the 2000 Zetec has something to interefere with the XS4Z from working. See images:

I'm going to check my hose tonight, every once in a while my car will stumble when it's idling for no apparent reason.

Question I have: would this hose being faulty cause fuel mileage to drop with the vacuum leak? thanks.

Ever since I checked the hoses, maybe I cracked something else or cracked it more but now it stumbles every time you come to a stop like it wants to stall. She sputters slightly to get moving for the first few feet but then shes fine once driving. Looks like I'll be doing this repair asap.

Any comments on the gas mileage I posted above? I don't think my focus gets near the mpg it should.

Thnx.

Thanks for the hose mod!
I just replaced the starter and happened to notice that my hose was malted in two. And seemed very soft and pliable.
Went to Auto Zone and no part matched. Going back to the parts store to get the things you listed. You're a life saver! Car won't stay at idle without that hose...

alrighty...so how hard is this to replace? seems like its back and under enough to be a pain. my car has had the bad stumble and cuts off if in park. looked at the hose with the car running, and it was pinched shut. so time for a new hose! and this is something ford should have in stock or no?

hose wont be in stock... you'll have to wait a day or 2. And its very easy to replace, takes like 5 minutes. You can check your pcv valve while your there.
