I brought my focus in this morning at 8 to get this TSB fixed. They ordered the parts last week and set the appointment date. I showed up and they had no idea what the TSB was for. The steering gear that needs to be replaced is the whole rack and pinion. They told me it was a 3 hour job so I drove it up here to wait. Needless to say at 1000 they pulled it in to the shop. I ask about getting a rental and they said they don't have any. They are all being used. So now I'm stuck at the dealership since 8 and they don't know when it will be done. Just wanted to let everyone know what's up.

My dealer called me this morning... they're ordering the parts for the steering column.

I also told them about the transmission and they have to replace the clutch! I won't get the car until next week. :(

Did you or the dealer make reference to this TSB 12-02-17 as to getting your work done? If there's another updated TSB please post it...

Hi brent375hh,

Your safety is top priority for Ford. If safety becomes an issue, Ford Motor Company will send letters informing owners of the affected component and program. This typically happens after a thorough investigation by Ford Motor Company and the NHTSA.

If this occurs more often, please do not hesitate to shoot me a PM with the VIN, current mileage as well as your personal and dealer contact info and I'll escalate your case to the Customer Service Manger.

Hey 2012-Focus,

Can you give me a status update on your Focus? Has the concern been repaired by the dealership? If you need assistance, send a PM with the VIN, current mileage, personal and dealer contact and I'll have the Customer Service Manager review your case.

Next week will be here in a jiffy and you'll be your Focus in no time flat!
Keep me posted on the results.

Take care everyone!

Thanks for the support,
I sat there till 4:30 and they told me that after installing my steering gear the traction control light comes on. They reset the light and code. The first time it turns right they said "it feels like it binds up" the light and code comes back up. They ordered some module to "fix" the problem. They also said that the car "when the steering wheel is staight" the car thinks its turning right "thats why it binds". I think he installed the steering gear wrong and adjusted the toe wrong. The parts should be in around 10:00 tomorrow morning. I will keep everyone posted on this issue. They also said I could "rack up" some extra charges because my car is lowered and they had to do extra work to get it on a lift.

No reference. I simply said I have a steering wandering issue. Maybe the Customer Service Manager Noemi hooked me up with mentioned it to them?
