I still don't understand why the new style bracket didn't work for you on your zetec. The only change that I know of, is you route the belt different then the old style. Maybe someone has an answer?

i do not know why either man. i tried everything that i was told to try from everyone on here, i have the new one installed now with the old style bracket and it fits fine.

for the record the new style alt bracket should work on any standard zetec. I have one on my car which has been fitted to a 00 cougar zetec as well as a early 00 focus zetec. Belt Length and routing are both different between the different brackets and it does make for a tight fit.

Well I tried every possible routing and I couldn't get the belt to fit. Not saying your wrong just saying it didn't work for me
