I updated the PSD Template and the background image to fix some positioning and add a darken mask to match what the system is doing. The old links have been updated but here is new one so you don't have to search.

sweet! I wonder if there's some sort of glow that can be added for the red/green quadrants without muddying up the wallpaper, just something ambient, not necessarily in line with the text displays like the phone/climate since the Nav/Info and Music quadrants can change

Oh no! Like I said, it shouldn't be much longer. Go ahead and PM me your VIN and address so I can make sure it's going to the right place.

This is what mine currently looks like. It matches the blue ambient lights nicely -

^^ Thanks. It doesn't look so hot with logo's and whatnot anymore so I decided to try some general windows style background pics.

Just installed my 3.0 this evening, so here's a photo of it in actual use...

Main issue is the gradients are a bit choppy on screen. I only saved out as PNG so it might be worthwhile trying a JPG version to see if that changes anything. Placement looks pretty good overall.

Sorry for the shoddy photo - just wanted to snap a quick shot w/my phone so you could see it on a real system.

I hear you about the gradient, I don't thing it's the file format.
The colors seem to washed out in the corners w/ the 3.0 update. It is as if there is a whiteness or grey trying to shine through from behind the colors. I notice this especially in daylight, when the lcd screen is at its brightest. It cheapens the appearance, to me.
2.11 had richer / deeper coloration ... it just plain looked good.

Ford is definitely adding a slight opacity mask to the entire background image - I assume to ensure even the lightest backgrounds have some degree of contrast relative to all the white text.

So, in layman's terms, they're intentionally washing out the background photo - you'd have to compensate in your source file if you want to avoid it.

Ok, I'm tracking ... I guess for me it is the washed out coloration of Ford's colored quadrants (especially the yellow and green on top), which, if I'm not mistaken, are not affected by the background photo.
