Please read the rules, advertising of products/services of any nature requires approval from the administrative staff. I have removed the offending part of your post.

Back on thread:

It looks like he just installed some HID bulbs. Pretty common, and generally discouraged since it is illegal and creates quite a bit of glare for oncoming drivers.

Also, you should consider fixing your lip.

The only way to legally go to HIDs is by using original equipment that was offered as an option for you specific vehicle make, model and year. So to the letter of the law the only legal HID conversion on a Focus is putting MACHs on an SVT the same year as when the EAP package was offered. Obviously its a very lightly enforced law. Fogs aren't too big of a deal since they are usually low enough to the ground to not be a bother to oncoming traffic. Headlights are a whole different story.

Hella also offer's a bixenon HID setup that is DOT legal.

It is just a shame that most DOT approved headlamps are inferior in performance to headlamps used in Europe and Japan.

To the letter, Ford would have had to sell them which I'm pretty sure they did at one point. Knowing Hella, I'm sure they are actually DOT approved unlike all the eBay shit. I did forgot about sedans the same years the MACH Audio Edition was offered.

DOT stamp doesn't mean they are actually approved by DOT. Manufactures just put it there to say they are DOT "compliant". Its pretty obvious when you look at all these eBay lights that they are nowhere hear meeting FMVSS 108.

IMO, the only acceptable way to instal HID or like kits is to use projectors. Putting these types of bulbs in regular housing, even foglights, is annoying and even dangerous to other drivers. Aiming regular light low (very counterproductive) still does not prevent the lights from blinding oncoming drivers.

Id go a step further:

The only acceptable use of HIDs is in HID-specific housings. Many projectors (Such as those you might find on ebay) are halogen housings. A proper HID housing is much higher quality and usually bixenon.

This is why I have respect for people who do a proper retrofit from retrofitsource. It's not technically DOT legal, but a properly retrofitted headlight is better than most factory setups.
