Hello yugoflip,

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I'll be on the lookout for your PM.

Hey unclebrud,

Unfortunately, I am not privy to certain information due to my lack of certification.

In the event a recall program is issued for a specific component; Ford will notify you via mail. However, recalls or any other customer satisfaction programs are initiated after a high trend of complaints are documented and investigated by Ford or the NHTSA.

If you are still experiencing this concern, please send me a PM with the VIN, current mileage, personal and dealer contact info as well. I'll be more than happy to escalate your case to the Customer Service Manager.

Thanks all!

Noemi

Yeah, I've had this issue only once so far, and it took place about a week after the emissions ECU upgrade. The only way to resolve the problem was to turn off the car and turn it back on. I'm at 24k miles.

What a great thing; having a Ford customer rep. on this board. Kudos to you and Ford!

This happened to me on the highway once and I concluded the following.

Since it is a manual, it has an emergency brake. I think I may have been nervously touching or fiddling with the emergency brake and somehow triggered "limp mode" while cruising at over 70 mph.

To resolve the issue I had to pull over and restart.

I think everyone in this thread that is describing these symptoms, somehow entered into "limp mode", which is the ECU determining something is wrong and putting severe limits on acceleration, etc.

I was just holding on to it, pushing the button without pulling on it.

To you that had the ecu updated....that recall only addressed a malfunction indicator light that may fail to illuminate. That's all.

I had the update done a few days after the recall came out. I'm a little over 9000 miles and have not had this happen. The only issue I've had is a misfire a total of three times while on the highway.

Happened to me. Sometimes the car feels like you have to press the gas peddle to the floor to get a good acceleration when passing another vehicle.

Is the PCM update the same thing as the tsb 12-1-4. Im confused between the two terms? I have had the TSB done and still believe I have throttle delays.
