Birthday awesome

So I borrowed a buddy's car today; my wife has mine in the shop for me.

She got a steal on all-around tint and remote start for me. Getting 35% (legal limit) on all side windows, 20% on rear and windshield strip. - $140
Remote starter - $215

I don't remember the brand of either the remote start or the tint but they just installed the same starter into her Chrysler and it works great. The tint I am a little disappointed with because I asked them and it doesn't offer much UV protection if at all. But, hey, she did it out of the goodness of her heart for me and it will still look slick.

Pics to come when I pick it up later.

Just got back from the shop. Remote start works great, but I am a little disappointed with the tint. We agreed to 35% sides and 20% rear/sun strip but they went 35% all around and forgot the sun strip. In their defense it was a verbal agreement for the 20 and sun strip so it wasnt in their work order but I wrote it on the envelope when I dropped the key.
He told me to bring it in next week and they will do the sun strip and if I dont like the 35% on the rear they will re-tint it.

What do you guys think? I will get more pics later but this shows the back and sides.

If any sort of agreement was made about 20% id be there getting it fixed to what you wanted. 90% of the tint you see on the road is purely privacy tint, meaning it offers little to no UV protection.

In my opinion I like 35% all around. Looks off when all the windows dont match.
But definitely go back for that windshield strip

This is probably the 6th or so car I have had tinted. I usually go for the UV myself.

As I look at it, I think I agree. The uniformity looks better. My last car was a Rabbit hatch and I liked the darker on the back. With the Focus it flows better having all the same grade.

They are picking it up Monday and doing the strip for me. I will go with 20% on that though because in my experience that little strip makes the biggest difference on glare reduction.

Where did you get it done? I'm looking for a good, inexpensive, place to get mine done.

Looks good BTW, and happy birthday!
