HIDs and headlights
I was looking into replacing my old worn out head lights with new ones. I didnt know what after market brand would be the best fit on my 01 focus and that would acomidate HIDs? Or should I just by OEM lights with HIDs?

save up ur money and buy a quality set of lights like the machs or, if u can, get a set of hella dynabeams. or if ud like, get a cheapo set and do a retrofit ie., replace the projectors, bulbs, ballasts. but i only recomend a retrofit if u feel comfortable with what ur doing.

Hella would probably be one of the easier to source head lights for you car. I'd go with them myself if they made them for the '05+ models.
The Retrofit Source for sourcing parts to convert your current headlights into HID HID Planet for the how-to's and people that know what they are doing with retrofitting. |

The hella hids are great. Machs are hella basically too. Machs were avaible in SVTF and in the Mach Audio Sedan. Search ebay, craigslist, here for some. I got mine off here from a guy parting is SVTF. When you buy already HID projector housing headlights of ebay they're usally not the greatest and burn bulbs really easily and do it alot. Many people retrofit them which just means putting new,good quality parts into a so so housing. Sometimes its cheaper, but its more work to do. You can also retrofit your stock housings that you have now. Which will look more OEM+ more one of a kind and will probably run a little cheaper since you already have the housings.

I obviously have the ballasts and bulbs installed togther, but since it is in the stock housing, no projectors.
