Volvo V40 - all new or?

Hi

As much as we can read now, new volvo compact will have all volvo stuff - new engines and platform

hm? what do you think?
i think engines will still come from ford - same goes for gearbox
and platform, is it all-new or updated focus MkII EU platform, the C1?

what do you think? do you like it? i don't, but thats not the point, i would never buy volvo but i would like to see more "OWN" manufacturers like bmw and ford and VW who has its own engine and other tech stuff.
cause for example - volvo s60 with ford ecoboost and ford powershift (also s60 is built on modified EUCD platform - ford mondeo) costs the same (at least here in croatia) as new bmw 328i which has all BMW stuff.
i'm not saying ford tech is bad - i think its great . what i'm saying is - volvo is overpriced.

That last picture is a killer. There's just something about the butt end of a hatchback that gets to my. So sexy.

Not so much the front; too long.

I've always liked smaller Volvos.

I like it, I got a C30 for a rental for a week a few months ago and I loved it, put over 700 miles on it and it was amazing, if the V40 will be anything like the C30 then it will be a great car imo

If you can afford it and if you like it looks than next info will make you love it even more:

it is made on MkII Focus platform (updated of course) which means it will drive at least like C30 and it will have 2.5 I5 254 hp and 1.6 Ford Ecoboost 180 hp engines

The engines in Volvos have never come from Ford. Even in the C30 and S40--they've all used Volvo engines.
