NO indicator for winshield wiper fluid

ISSUE:
Some 2012 Focus vehicles built on or before 1/14/2012 may not display the low washer solvent message as detailed in the Owner's Guide.

ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Using the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) start a new IDS session.
ID the vehicle; select the tool box at the vehicle screen.
Select module programing.
Select programmable parameter.
Select car configuration parameters.
Select vehicle configuration.
Retrieve professional technician society (PTS) delivered as-built data.
Follow the on-screen prompts.

Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage
IMPORTANT: Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.

i do not see the light on the dash at start up. 12-14-11 build.

Those who do this TSB, please take your LCD info screen into TEST mode and take a picture of your LED test. I am not seeing an LED warning icon for washer fluid. Which one is it? Maybe it should be at the 0 speedo position?

Somebody who has a working indicator said it shows on the info screen. There is not a dummy light.

It would be nice to have a coolant level alarm but I'd guess the engine coolant system is a bunch tougher to sensorize than washer fluid. First, it's hot. Then you have the water pump causing the fluid to be quite turbulent. Finally, it's pressurized so whatever sensor would need to be fully enclosed.

Should still be doable, but certainly not as easy as washer fluid.

A similar thing with motor and transmission oil levels.

Putting a sensor in the coolant overflow bottle would reduce those issues. As you mention, oil is also hot and pressurized, and most vehicles have oil level sensors.
