Honestly DO NOT PUT a spectre filter in. I just switched back to the OEM box with a snorkel and it sounds better (spectre sounds like rice) and performance wise I get better gas mileage. K and n filter as well

For someone with a dally driver who just wants a couple of extra mpg this mod is a no-brainer. Buy the filter (pref with the radiused inside area...bellmouth)...remove the top of the airbox...install the filter. You're done.

I've had one of the cheaper brands...probably Spectra on two cars and I use a K&N cleaner/oiler kit...and it's still in good condition.

If you run "fast and furious"...buy the expensive stuff...and have it anodized?

It can be even easier than that! I gained one or two mpg just from removing the snorkel and resonator from the stock intake. Sounds better and is a bit more peppy too.

I had that setup for awhile and didn't see a gain...definite gain from installing the cone filter though.
