Still think it is a bad idea. The best solution would be to run a hose from the cowl and pressurize the factory air-box.You can take the noise canceler off the end of the air-box and hook the hose up there. I used an old shop vac hose. My air temperature measured by the MAS is always about 10 degrees below outside temp. You can feel the difference. I will try to post pics this weekend.

that would be awesome, im thinking of getting the cone filter but making a heat guard for it to help out with the underhood heat your talking about, and if i can get some pics on what you were talking about ill probably do that as well

yeah that's what i'm thinking. K&N cone filter. keep stock snorkel and the 2 sides of the box facing the engine and front. any thoughts on this?

Heat rises, you are still going to suck massive amounts of hot air into your engine. OEM places the air-boxes on autos like they do to keep the air as cool as possible. Cold air is dense, therefore you get more in your engine. You might get away with an open element in the winter, but not in the summer. That is why I always recommend dyno testing with the hood closed so as to replicate real world conditions. Just feel the factory air-box after driving and that will give you a picture of how hot the air is inside the engine compartment. Why do you think ford moved the air intake to inside the drivers fender?

i finally got one. it looks good, and im trying different ways to get colder air into it. Im a noob and have no idea how to post pics but whenever i find out ill post a pic haha

just got one from auto zone, im wanting to make/ buy a heat shield for it and also put a tube where the old resonator was and put it down into the fender to bring more cold air into it
