2012 Focus Stock Exhaust Size

Just curious, does anyone know the exhaust size of the 2012 Ford Focus? From my measurements, it's about 2 inches, but I just was a definitive answer. I'm also curious as to whether a larger 2.25 inch exhaust would have any benefits.

I currently have a Borla muffler installed with a pipe welded in place of my middle resonator (under the center console) but I still have the secondary resonator (by the rear driver side wheel) and would like to have a single pipe running all the way back to the muffler without any welds (except of course for the weld onto the muffler) or resonators. Much like how the stock exhaust is.

I would just like to know which, a 2 inch or a 2.25 inch exhaust, would be better. Thanks in advance for your opinions!

I would run 2.5 if I was to have new pipe put on.

Probably because 2" vs. 2.25" isn't much of a difference....

Usual first step on an older Focus would be to remove the rear resonator & replace it with a straight pipe, as the factory did on some models....

No appreciable performance improvement, just better "sound" and a weight reduction...

That said, the "cats" are the main exhaust restriction, and any changes post cat won't make much difference.... So unless you put on a header, pipe size & muffler makes little difference....
