Need assistance in Riverside, 92507

Hi guys,
I really need help. I am from Ukraine and just moved to Riverside. English is not my native language so it's difficult to handle all of the faq's and other info's fast. I am member of Lacetti forum in Ukraine and I know it's a pain in a$$ to read noobs threads like this one. In Ukraine I have a friend who own's a mechanic shop, so I didn't have any problems maintaining my car. I did a lot of work myself (with prof. tools you can do anything). Now I need to figure out how to maintain a car in US. I bought SVTF 2002 110k+ miles - this car needs to be treated really well, and because it's old it needed a lot of work, so I need to find trustworthy place to do the work. I've heard a lot of scary stories about dealerships and shops in US like replacing new parts with old ones, etc. In Lacetti Club we had a list of trustworthy companies, but on FF I found only list of exclusive vendors :( and a list of online retailers. So I need any advices about local mechanics, bodyshops, etc.

SUMMARY:
Problem 1: I need trustworthy mechanic (who can manage SVT) in Riverside area (ZIP 92507).

Problem 2: The biggest problem my car has right now is it needs brake work - while braking the pedal is shaking a lot, probably needs new rotors. I need any advises, where to do the work, what parts, etc?

Problem 3: I don't now the maintenance history of the car. Particularly, I don't know whether timing belt is changed or not (how to check this?). If you are the guy from Newport Beach area who sell Sonic-Blue SVTF 2002 with 110k+ miles to BMW's dealer please PM me :) .

P.S. I really appreciate any help. Thank you for reading my post.

APMRDAL and myself are local to riverside along with duratec2.3 look us up.

as far as your brakes vibrating you are right. the rotors are probably warped so you need to replace them. its not hard to do that yourself as long as you have tools to remove the caliper. just replace the rotors with factory replacements and depending how much brake pad is left you can either replace them or just clean the friction surface with some sandpaper.

the horror stories you heard about shops here in the us may be true in some cases but the chances of it happening to you are very low. there are laws to protect your vehicle incase something like that does happen.

the timing belt on the svt is recommended at 120,000 miles i think. it is always good to replace it early to prevent something bad from happening.

WELCOME TO SOCAL! Come out to the meets so we can see you and that focus

if you want to know the service history of the car you will have to take it to a ford dealer. carfax doesnt go into a great enough detail. the closest ones to riverside are Frits Ford, Sunrise Ford and Raceway Ford.

I just came to US, so have nothing, but a screwdriver LOL. Only a repair shop can help me.

I want to come but Northridge place is quite far, maybe I'll come to Ontario meeting if it will holds this satruday. I definitely will come to some canyon run. I just had rides on routes 74 and 18 - very beautiful places there. I came from completely plain region in Ukraine, so mountain landscapes here are really impressive to me.

Raceway Ford is near to me, I'll probably start from there.

Next question: where is good car washer + wax?

Ok guys, my problems are finally solved:
- I've got new front brake performance slotted rotors, power stop pads
- new timing and serpentine belts, new water-pump, head-gasket seal, etc.
in addition: front/rear struts and short-shifter.

Now there are a lot more stuff to do...

P.S. thanks to APMRDAL for his help
