i think the car would look great provided the following mods were modified. remove the wing, change the rims, side skirts and last but not least the paint job other than that the rest of the car looks good. and it has some nice mods as far as the the intake and the suspension. this is the first time i have seen this car, was this a ford concept show car that they built for the auto shows when they first announced the focus? what's the sauce? and if it was a prototype it's a shame that they didn't produce some of the features that this car has.

There were only 3 made. All in '01. I think it was more of a "lets show people what we can do" type project.

I still love the FR200 and wish I could get one. The yellow one has always been my fav. I just wish they did a little more with the interior on them. the best part of them (in my opinion of course) has always been the sedan tails on a hatch.

its looks to be running a stock stamped steel lower control arm painted silver too. so all you'd need is the math work for the upper arm and the new length and stroke of the custom front struts. i wanna say maybe8 grand worth of bits in the front end, seeing as one off coilovers on the front could be pricey.

so incorrect i have to go to bed to sleep off the effects of it. the only apc part on this car is the headlights. everything else was done in house at ford. read earlier in the thread and you'll find its 1 of 3 built as a show what's possible kind of thing.

that said they could have been a bit more subtle with it......

I'd rather sport the Ecoboost '34, although I love the suspension set-up. It's sort of Revo-knuckle without struts, dual A-arm= mmmmmm.

Having designed and built an SLA conversion on a strut car, it isn't as easy as you might think. Sure, there are lots of programs to get you the proper geometry (here is mine) but the difficult part is the mounting location for the upper arm. Strut cars typically don't have any structure where the inner pivots of the upper A-arm should be. Get that wrong, your camber curve goes to shit and, more importantly, your instant center is all out of whack. It isn't a "wherever it fits" type of deal.

The damper wouldn't be hard. Make a custom three-hole mount that matches the factory upper strut mount pattern, weld a clevis to it, but a universal circle track shock like a Bilstein S7Z, add a matching lower mount on one of your control arms, done. Since there is a factory damper mount on the unibody already, that one is easy.

The other thing that would be hard would be the work needed to adapt those spindle to SLA. I'd find a nuclear certified welder.
