My 2000 Ford Focus wont crank up

Hey guys i have a 2000 Ford Focus SE, One day when i was about to head out to school my pushed in the clutch and turned the key; NOTHING happened. So i checked the clutch switch and it's fine. I left with my grandma for school. That next day assuming it was the starter i bought a starter put it on, still NOTHING. I have no idea what happened all i remember is that the day before my car stumbled to start up.

I have no clue as to what could have caused this i really need it up and running again because im In a very important marching band program down here in South Florida/ Broward County.

When i turn my key the fuel pumps start up and all lights etc.

PLEASE HELP!!

Many things could cause this , do you have ------- in the odometer , how did you check the clutch switch ? have you tried jumping it ? Small ground wire beside the Batt if off wont let the starter kick in

Low Batt voltage ? Fuses

having a brain fart which is the odometer? and the little button under the clutch pedal; to see if anything was in the way and blocking it. havent tried jumping it. and any way you can show me this small ground wire?
just charged the battery the other night when i got the new starter. and ive checked my fuses and everything is good

sorry super brain fart yes everything is hooked up, but i need to see what this small wire your talking about looks like...

Jump the neutral safety switch at the top of the clutch pedal as Tom suggested; that's the easiest one to check first. Pumping the clutch pedal sometimes works to free it up if it's stuck or not making proper electrical contact somehow.
What's the PATS light doing during an attempted start?

all my lights on my dash and gauges show fine even my AF ratio gauged. I have Zetec so is this nuetral switch black with a grey button on it... what could be the issue though. I will attempt to jump it though... can one of you guys Message me to make this faster. or text me. i will provide the number in the message.

there is like tom said a little wire that goes to ground on battery i did the same thing when changing battery i ripped wire off and car would not start so i got same size wire and fixed it car started up fine so look around the battery for wire

i didnt find small black wire. There are like three connected to the ground from the battery is it one of these? one of them leads from the battery, to behind it and down into the engine bay. Might this be it?

Did you try jumping the clutch safety switch yet? Pull the plug off and run a little wire between the plug sockets. Just make sure you don't start it in gear and hurt somebody.
