Tire size selection

I have a set of oz superturismo i plan on installing on my 2013 ford focus. The rims are 18x7.5" .
I'm looking and trying to debate between a 225/45/18 and a 235/40/18 and need some help picking the best and safest size for autoX on a 7.5" wide rim

Are you preparing the car for any specific class?

The difference between the 2 sizes will be pretty small. My preference when running street tires is to have them slightly stretched. Street tires usually have softer sidewalls than R-Compounds, and a little stretch will help support the sidewall. I would probably lean towards the 225's for a 7.5" wheel. If you're thinking of running STF, then 225 is the max width allowed.

Another vote for 225, street tires do not like to be overstuffed on a small width wheel.
