If only it were as easy as dropping in a turbo! Unfortunately you need to think about all the rest. I spent about $10k on my turbo ZX3. You will also need an upgraded clutch to handle the power, exhaust, flywheel, new tires, brakes and suspension work. How many miles are on the car? How is the transmission?

His car is setup for it except the clutch. I don't think he as to pay for labor either. So $6,000 tops

10k for a turbo on a zx3 is a lot should've done it your self and saved some money a clutch isn't hard to install just time consuming, and if your like most of us already upgrading the wheels and tires you should be fine. You dont have to spend a grand to get a good suspension for 7-8 psi on a turbo. So the most I would say if you do it yourself is like 4500 thats buying the kit and tuning it as well.

You did spend alot, but remember, you were building for a drag setup, you put new wheels, tires and suspension on for a better drag setup, Thats quite a bit of money right there that isnt necessarily required. The clutch was yes, but if you are frugal and do the work yourself, it can be cheaper. I still wish you hadnt sold that car tho.. I miss it :-P
