Credit Card Storage

So I've been reading this forum since I bought my first ever focus last month, and just now registered to post...I was pretty excited about this.

Maybe everyone else already knew, but to me this was brand new. I've been wondering if the black sort-of rectangular piece with 2 wide slots in it just below the heat control was just covering a void where some feature I didn't have would go...

But, I was filling up on gas with a gift card this last weekend, and decided to stick the card in there. Fits PERFECT. Doesn't seem to fall in, or wiggle at all as if its hollow in there. I don't know if this is the intended purpose, but now I use it to store gas gift cards and coffee gift cards...amazing!

I noticed this in the other thread... My question is, do the cards get stuck in there?

So far, no. It seems they won't fall in or go down at an angle to jam at all, or get pushed in any further. They sit in there perfectly, with about a half inch sticking out the front, enough to grab.

It's the delete plate for higher trim features. One member said that's where his parking assist buttons are on his Titanium.

A wallet won't fit in there. You must be mixing it up with another nook. http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...&postcount=521

And yes, the park assist and parking sensor button are there on my SEL with parking package.

I also saw this in the tricks and tips thread today and realised it perfectly solves my problem of losing my apartment complex access card in the center console bottomless pit.

FYI, there is also a slot for a card in the glove compartment. Useful for a less frequently used card like a AAA.
