got the rods and pistons all done and in got the rear main seal and oil pump in, got the crankcase in and the oil pick up in and got the oil pan with the oil outlet welded on today, heres some sample pics for it

yea them damn bearings had me in a BIND! but way past them now. smooth sailing for tomorrow. hopefully get the head on check the valve clearances and set the timing and get teh timing belt on. anyone know the clearances for the stock valves

got the head upside down and cleaned the shit out of the old gasket material and the old gunk on the side of the head from years of dirt


then i set the head on the block and torqued down the new head bolts from CFM. then put the new crankshaft pulley on andd put the alternator on and the AC bracket on and then put the camshafts on set the block to TDC and tigtened down the camshaft seals.

so who helped you to figure out how to do timing? you aren't going to use adjustable once? I'm stack with my taxes will make my own tread after and will start to build engine too, but will need help with stupid questions lol

for this whole build i have two people mainly to thank. thats rocco {IROC34} and TOM for answering my menaughtenous questions. but as far as timing goes its fairly simple....first thing i did was order from tooldiscounter.com you can order the special FORD TDC pin and cam allignment tool. Then on youtube you can search "how to replace timing belt" on ford focus and it goes right over every little detail. my build has stripped all my money saway so after the cars running and i get back to work than i will buy some adjustable cam gears. the one for sale on the marketplace here the guys asking WAY TO MUCH for old style aem gears. but whatever questions you got make sure you have the sources to ask away first hand before you stumble to the areas. double check even triple check....you rgoing to have fun with the plastigages and clearance checks

well i cant put the motor back in, i found out why the car ran like shit before i did this engine overhaul. someone or something cut the wiring from where teh pig tails are to the knock sensor and the oil pressure sensor in the back of the engine.... and iic ant find a wrecked focus to replace it or any local auto parts stores dont sell the pig tails but they sell the sensors wich does me no good
