Jrsc plastic idler pulley replacement

After extensive research trying to find a metal replacement pulley for the plastic/nylon 2" Idler Pulley for the SVT JRSC
I finally decided to ask moss if the 2" pulley for the miata and focus were the same

Here is what i sent to Moss:

I am looking for the 2" idler pulley for my SVT FOCUS JRSC
051-627 is the part number listed in the manual for the SVT JRSC

Is that interchangeable with the 2" idler, part number 999-161, from the Miata JRSC kit?

If they are interchangeable which is the better option?
Or are they the same part?

Here is Moss' Reply:

The two numbers are for the same pulley.
One number is from our Hondaprogram.
The other number is for the other programs.

So given that information...
$50.00 PN 051-627 http://www.mossmotors.com/shop/OrderByPart.aspx

$39.95 PN 999-161 http://www.mossmiata.com/Shop/ViewPr...0&SortOrder=10

If your going to get the plastic replacement you can still save money...

There is also a $45.00 2" SVT JRSC Steel Replacement Idler Pulley
$45.00 PN TDR-SIPF https://trackdogracing.com/tdr-sipf.aspx

I recently replaced mine with the Miata one...It states that it will be the last idler I'll ever have to buy...we'll see...

I just had someone tell me about this thread.

We specialize in supercharged Mazda Miatas. We actually had the steel flanged idler pulleys made as we could not find anyone making them in the size we needed. They were designed for our Miata specific supercharger belt tensioner. They are actually 2 1/4" pulleys but we have found they work for the original application tensioner on the Miata supercharger kits which were 2" plastic pulleys.

If they work for your application, that's great! We can not guarantee alignment so you may need to shim them, depending on the application but the flanges should help with belt alignment. The bearing is a replaceable generic bearing held in with a c-clip.

We also sell Eaton supercharger oil kits with the proper amount of oil metered out for the Eaton M45 and MP62 superchargers as well as bypass actuators. Finally we sell a variety of supercharger pulleys. Check out our website at http://trackdogracing.com.

If you have any questions, email us at support@trackdogracing.com because I'm not a frequent visitor of this forum.

Your pulley worked for me with a different shim. I just used a thin washer, been on for a few months now with no issues. Hopefully others will have the same success.
