Red Line MTL! I swear it feels waaay better than royal purple, mobil 1 75-90, and whatever else the car used to have.. also run it in the miata and it made a great difference, will probably change to that in the eclipse as well

This one is old but it explains stuff about RP.. somewhere in the thread it has a list of a couple that are "ok" to use: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...g+tranny+fluid

A lot of manual transmissions and transfer cases come from the factory with ATF.

Don't know if it's the best choice but it makes things simpler on the production line.

I run Amsoil and absolutely back it up. This stuff is awesome, stopped the grinding in between gears and made everything smooth. As for the Engine oil, it runs cooler and increased oil pressure. Here ya go...................

gear oil

Hey basit. I run the royal purple synchromax in mine. shifts are smooth and not 'notchy' feeling. If you do a little searching on this site, there was a pole done on which is more popular. Later.

When I ran the royal purple stuff it was leaking outs the half shaft seals. Switched to Mobil 1 ATF and leak went away. Ran Mobil 1ATF for the longest. Now I use the ford stuff and will be sticking with it.
I now drive a Japanese Ford.
