Random Airbag Light

This morning during my commute to work the airbag light came on. I restarted the car when I got to work and the light stayed on.

I think it's silly that the screen says 'All Systems Normal'.

I will hit the dealer next week, but I wondered if anyone else has had a random airbag light.

as unlikely as it is... this happened to me in my Mazda when the battery was about to go out... but that should definitely not be the case with a brand new car... either way, hit up the dealership and see what they say.

I had this as well! Don't have a clue why. I restarted my car (after filling up at the gas station) and the light went away. I'll let the dealership know when I get my oil change next weekend. (Maybe I can try to get the transmission TSB too)

Mine came on when I needed a new battery too.

Had it been a few days since you had driven it? Is it possible your battery was low?

Unlikely on the low battery, she's been on the road all week. Also, this was about 30 minutes into my 40 minute commute.

No light on the way home.

Curious to know what you find out, Prato.

I fully expect to hear that, "unfortunately we can't diagnose the issue unless the light is on".

By chance are you placing something heavy on the passenger seat? On cars with passenger sensors, will think it is an unbuckled passenger.

I found anything more then a couple pounds will cause the air bag light to go on.

Ehh, also a negative. Nothing on the passenger seat.

My mom (150lbs?) was in the passenger seat when my light was on. So that's... unsettling.

EDIT: It was the dash airbag light as seen in the picture above, not the Passenger Airbag Off light.
