Rear Hatch Wiring Harness

Our 2003 ZTW developed the typical wiring fault with the harness where it transitions from the body to the rear tail hatch door. A mechanic disconnected the body end of the harness to isolate the fault and stop the drain on the battery.
I have since found and fixed the short at the stress point, but have no idea where the connector for the rear hatch is.
He killed the rear window wiper, (but not the washer), and the rear window defroster, (but not the controls, as the relay still clicks and the LED illuminates to indicate it is on.)
Where would this connector be? I took the whole back door panel apart, and confirmed all wiring is connected, but have no clue where the other end of the harness gets connected, under the dash, or behind a panel inside, or somewhere in the roof?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

No, I checked by the third brake light, and it isn't there. Where would a mechanic disconnect that wiring harness to kill power to the rear window defogger and the rear wiper motor? Those are the only two devices that aren't working in the rear hatch, yet the fuses are good.
