Sockets for Mach headlights

By accident I found a cheap way to make my own plugs for Mach headlights.
I ordered a set of used VW plugs ( VW part number 1J0 973 735 ) from eBay ( these to be exact; http://www.ebay.com/itm/290607700306...84.m1439.l2649 ) hoping that the cables are gonna be located in the right pin holes; 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8. I was wrong, but I didn't gave up.

First I started with removing the clip:

You can easily remove the cables and re-arrange them in order to make them work with your headlights;

Removing the pins was fairy easy. You just need to grab the cable with the pliers and pull it out. This is how it looks after you remove it;

By pulling the pin out the small side clips ( the arrow point that they should be bent in the opposite position before putting them back in ) will get damaged so you can try to just pull them back in or remove them at all, doesn't matter.

Good thing with these used sockets is that they have small rubber plugs that you can plug into the unused holes to make them water resistant.

Finished product. $30 dollar project instead of $80-$100.

Hope that will help some of you.

Had to edit this thread as this write up is for MACH lights only.
I was putting my ST170 lights and the write up for them is completely different.

You should use shrink tubing over those wires on back of the plug, followed by something like silicon bathtub sealant.
Otherwise moisture [with salt] will rot those wires right off.
