Wood Trim!

Updated 7/20: Pictures installed!

I missed having wood trim inside my car - so here's my attempt...

Photos of it installed to come..

The next one I want to faux-wood-mod is the manual trans. shifter surround. Does anyone know what the part # is? The dealer was not able to order it for me...

Hydro dipped? Ask the guys in the village ford sub forum. They are pretty good at getting part #'s, plus a discount on the parts.

Check out my build log. I have a couple of parts that have been hydro dipped. My buddy has been doing it for about 3 years.

Yeah, Hydrodipped.

First time I learned about such a thing. I can't wait to see the results. I'm thinking of hydrodipping the shifter surround for sure.

But I am torn on the AC vents, the large L-shaped trim right of the shifter, and the window switches' silver accent. I'm thinking a shiny satin silver might look nicer.

Imo, pick one color/design for interior pieces and stick with it, I dislike how some cars have what it seems the entire hardware store color pallet on their cars

Fenway, I usually do not like wood trim, but I am blown away by how good your update looks.
With respect to th a/c module bezel, I'm attempting to remove mine, as I'm changing all the silver trim to flat black. However, I'm having trouble removing the trim piece, that would be closest to my right leg as I sit in driver seat. As you found out, there is a Torx screw behind that piece that must be removed to release the a/c module.

Is there a trick to removing that piece, or simply loosening it sufficiently to access that screw. I've been able to loosen it just a bit, but I'm concerned that I'm going to snap something.

Any thoughts ? Thanks man.

That is done incredibly well but the whole concept of faux wood trim seems so 1970s or for a much more upscale car.
