When I was signing the finance papers the finance manager asked why i was downgrading. Funny that he would ask that. I do not consider it a downgrade. The focus rides better, gas mileage is better, and it is fun to drive. I have more people looking at it then when I had the BMW.

Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!

I drove my Focus to the Chevy dealership so my wife could drive/decide on a Cruze (I know, don't say it). I pulled-up into a slot directly in front of the front doors, and you should have seen all the shirts scramble to the windows to see my car. I was LMAO at the spectacle.

I was making fun of them, and my wife thought it was funny too!

Anyway, back on topic. I loved the BMWs I've driven, but my tastes always outran my pocketbook, so I've never owned one.

The focus is my po'-bo's BMW.

I hear good things about the Cruze, Seems to be a good seller for Chevy. But to me the styling on the Cruze is just too bland and somewhat dated looking. The Focus just looks so much sleeker and sportier.

As far as BMW's. Never owned one myself, but I've heard from a few owners that they are nice .... until you have to fix them.

That's what's awesome about older BMWs, they're easy to work on yourself!

I wouldn't dare buy a newer one though, once they're out of warranty the cost of repair is shocking.

In ten years there will be no used cars. No one will be able to afford to fix all the tech thats broken.

The sheer number of proprietary systems on newer BMWs and the diagnostic equipment necessary to read and correct them is staggering. The standard BMW CanBus tool is somewhere near $30K. It's unreal.

I can only imagine. Even with the focus, I'm pretty sure a 2012 focus in 2022 will be in need of a fair amount of TLC. I mean, what used car buyer is gonna shell out for a new set of clutches on the DCT, a new set of high pressure direct injectors, and the voice commands will only work in zwahili, and the backup camera will show a blue screen of death...I sure hope I can afford a new car with a waranty in 2022!

BUT, Ford is going in the right direction, challenging BWM and others for the new car buyer cash!

It all took about 35 minutes.

Welcome aboard.
Actually now BMW offers 3 years of completely free maintenance. That takes care of mostly all of the basic stuff.

I have seen the comercials. I assume many who trade a BMW for a 2012 Focus are are/were owners of BMW's 3 years or older.
