There really isn't much of a ledge or shelf that it sits on. It just kind of sticks in there mostly via friction. I would assume my center console is essentially the same as yours.

If I can figure out a good way to take a picture of how it actually sits in there I will.

Maybe you're right. This is a picture from a 2012 Focus too.

I still want to cut a slot in my top so that I can fit a thicker cord (e.g.: RCA cable) through it when it's closed.

That looks exactly the same as mine (except I don't have MFT so I only have 1 USB and an audio-in jack).

If it does rest on anything, it rests on those two ridges. I tried to point them out (sorry for the crappy/quick paint edit).

That's what I was thinking too. Also, puh-leeze. I practically use MSPaint exclusively for my image editing. hahaha

I got tough up paint for mine. The color match is waaaay off. The touch up paint is much lighter than the paint on the car but the paint codes match.

Do I need to use both the base and the top to darken it up?

So you only used one of the two touch-up pens? It needs base and then the top coat, so yes.

I bought my car used (from a dealer) and noticed the previous owner had touched up a few spots and it matched really well. I have some hood dings from everyday driving I want to touch up. How much did you all end up spending on the touch up paint?
